Kura Ora Restaurant

The name of our Restaurant means "Welcome" in Tahitian! The relaxed atmosphere but warm, the leather interior and wood, the originality of the cuisine that combines the quality of French cuisine with superb aromas of French Polynesia are the restaurant Kura Ora very welcoming place. The restaurant opens onto a large terrace overlooking the white sandy beach and the wide dock, which makes the renowned institution.

The restaurant is open daily and offers a sumptuous buffet for breakfast, lunch a la carte menu and a superb dinner with a choice of starters, main courses and scrumptious desserts. All our dishes are prepared using mainly local ingredients and freshly caught fish in the lagoon of Fakarava and the surrounding sea. The service is provided by a professional and friendly staff, who constantly keeps an eye on the presentation of dishes and cooking to perfection.

 

Diving

Fakarava is an excellent destination for scuba diving for beginners and experienced enthusiasts. Although his reputation has continued to strengthen, the diving is still regarded as 'virgin'. The pass to the north is stunning beauty and immense. With a depth of 10 meters, it stands out as the most impressive passes in French Polynesia.

The species most frequently encountered are the Napoleons, pike, sea maidens, finned fish, marbled groupers, manta rays and sharks. The sharks living in these waters are not aggressive. Some dive sites listed include around Fakarava Pass Tumakohua (diving to 12 m - 42 m), Pass Garuae (diving to 12 m - 42 m) and fossa of the sharks in a lagoon about 18 m deep.

Boat trip

On Fakarava, water and water activities are central to life on the island. A boat trip to one of the most beautiful mum is highly recommended while you are staying at the Maitai Dream Fakarava.

On a motu, the atmosphere is peaceful, romantic and time seems to stand still. You could almost touch the spirit of the Tuamotu on these tiny motus in this region most isolated from all of Polynesia.
Whether you snorkel diving or snorkeling in the lagoon and mask or you prefer to stay dry on the sand, a boat trip to one of these beautiful islands with small pink sand beaches is ideal for relaxation. It is an experience unique and unforgettable.

We offer trips to the half-day trip to the islands in the direction of Theater and the northern pass. The day trips take the direction of the island or to the Topikite passes south of Fakarava with barbecue picnic lunch and snorkeling included.

The boat trips are always scheduled, subject to weather conditions and are offered throughout the year.

Visit a pearl farm

The huge lagoon of Fakarava is home to several black pearl farms. If you stay at the Maitai Dream Fakarava, we will be happy to arrange a visit to a pearl farm in operation if you wish.
