Located on the right side of the Taiohae Bay in a peaceful setting, just downhill to the Keikahanui Pearl Lodge, the He'e Tai Inn is owned and managed by Rose Corser.
This small lodge is brand new and has 4 rooms and one "suite" for families. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with brand new equipement and can be easily compared to the quality of a hotel. All rooms have private bathroom, air conditioning and can welcome up to 3 adults. At night you will enjoy a very nice meal cooked by Thierry with local products.
Rose Corser is an emblematic figure of Taiohae. With her late husband Franck, they first sailed their yacht from California to Nuku Hiva in 1972 to study Marquesan art and culture for a master's degree Rose had in the works. They settled in 1979.
Rose Corser also opened a museum. The carvings, tapa-cloth paintings, grain-seed necklaces, and kumu hei (a local lei made of fragrant plants) and other items on sale are all unique pieces of art, not handicrafts. Rose's museum is a required stop on your visit to the Marquesas Islands.
