The island of Tahaa, means nature and relaxation in its purest condition, with as a bonus, a fabulous lagoon. This month we have selected there two modest "pensions" that are also very typical.

Tahaa

The Vanilla Island (as Tahaa is nicknamed) possesses unsuspected charms, unique in themselves, without comparison with other island in the Society Archipelago. Although Tahaa shares its sumptuous lagoon with her big sister Raiatea (where the airport is), it does not look at all like it. This is why a few days spent discovering the mezmerizing lagoons and the vanilla hills of Tahaa will give you pleasant surprises. Among the more and more numerous pensions on the island, we selected two, perhaps among the more modest, but also among the most typical, to go in search of this TRULY authentic island.

La pension

When you enter the large bay of Haamene, Patricia and Daniel welcome you inside their typical pension to make you discover the secrets of Vanilla Island. Wisely located on the mountain side, but with access to a private dock overlooking one of the island's beaches, the Vai Poe Pension's bungalows are built in a local style perfectly adapted to average or long stays. Aligned side by side, the four "Fare" feature either two double beds or one double bed. They are pleasantly furnished (mosquito nets, namely, all feature a living area with television, private bathroom with hot water, and well equipped kitchen which makes it possible to live in one's own " home ". Meals cam also be taken at the pension or nearby snacks and restaurants. A private deck completes each bungalow to admire, throughout the day, a very changing scenery.

As a cherry on the cake, the pension is also host to a pearl farm! The activities of this small pearl farm will (quietly) pace your day and initiate you to the magic of grafting black pearls. And for those who love excursions, Daniel will guide you through the maze of the island's center in search of THE unaccessible waterfall, but also take you on the surrounding lagoons for a picnic on a motu or for memorable diving through the coral garden. After a few days of this special regime, you also will never look at Tahaa the same way.
