Rapa Nui - Easter Island
UNESCO classified since 1995, Rapa Nui also known as Easter Island has in all times been considered the largest open air museum in the world. Archaeological sites are numerous and very well maintained: Orongo (village worship of man and bird petroglyphs), Moai quarry of Rano Raraku, Tongariki Ahu (platform 15 Moai), the Ahu Anakena beach, ... Rapa Nui also has national parks with beautiful natural landscapes, volcanoes and vast wilderness, free of any buildings. Few paved roads, but paved or dirt roads, beaches on the north coast surf spots on the coasts and in the center of Hanga Roa, the only inhabited spot on the island.
The islanders are very friendly, welcoming and warm. There is no problem not speak Spanish or Rapa Nui, the latter making the effort to speak French or English.
Almost all accommodations are located in the village of Hanga Roa and the very close neighborhood.

Shops are open Monday to Saturday from 09h to 13h and 17h to 20h. The restaurants are generally open daily (except Sunday for some), often until midnight or longer. The main dishes cooked: meat (beef / pork), chicken, fish (especially tuna) / ceviche (raw fish kind of Chile). Drink typical Rapa Nui and Chile: the Pisco Sour (brandy grape / lemon juice / egg white / sugar).
