Air Tahiti inter islands flights

Air Tahiti is the local airline company, they are doing the inter-islands flight between 46 islands. They are doing international flights between Tahiti and Rarotonga Cooks islands. Their main office is situated in Tahiti Faaa in the international Tahiti airport. They are hiring a thousand employees, they are doing freight transportation as well. Air Tahiti begin operation in 1953 and their first name was Reseau Aerien Interinsulaire (RAI), it was re-baptised Air Polynesia in 1970 and change again to Air Tahiti in 1987. Air Tahiti is transporting around 800 000 passengers per year. The company is owned by the local government (13.7%), the Bank of Socredo ( (13.4%), the employees (8.4%), private shareholders (33.5%), Air France (7.48%) and the rest by other investors.
